AC Milan came back to winning ways against Bologna (1-2) last Sunday at the Dall’Ara Stadium. Yet, all our direct rivals won their matches too. The race towards earning a spot in the next Europa League edition is tighter than ever; therefore, a victory at home against Hellas Verona is a must and there is no room for mistakes. Let's get set for Matchday 36 with the game preview.
AC MILAN'S FORM:
Following the match against Bologna, we halted a 6-game win drought. Yet, our recent results at San Siro have not been so positive. Our last home win in Serie A came on 18th March against the other Venetian side (3-2 vs Chievo Verona). Since then, we have drawn three times and lost once, scoring only one goal. Moreover, we have scored four league goals since the start of April. Only our next opponents and Bologna (three apiece) have netted fewer goals in the same period.
OUR OPPONENTS' FORM:
Hellas Verona are second to last in the league and are fighting to avoid relegation. Coach Pecchia’s side have lost each of their last six away league games, conceding at least two goals in each match and scoring maximum once in the process. As per their head-to-head record against us, the Gialloblu have never defeated us in a Serie A game at San Siro, losing 15 games and drawing 11.
TEAM NEWS:
Defender Alessio Romagnoli is back in full training with the team after recovering from an injury (left thigh) he suffered against Sassuolo (8th April). The centre-back could be at coach Gattuso's disposal for the match against Hellas Verona after being sidelined in the past four games.
DANGERMEN
Former AC Milan player Alessio Cerci – who recorded 29 Serie A appearances and one goal in the Red and Black between 2015 and 2016 – has been involved in three goals in his last four Serie A matches against us (one goal, two assists). Another attacking threat from the Gialloblu is Moise Kean – who could return to action after suffering a serious thigh injury in March. The 18-year-old striker scored a goal against us in the reverse fixture (3-0)
